About the Senior Cloud Engineer Role
The Senior Cloud Engineer will join Datacom’s Group Security team, reporting directly into the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
This position focuses on designing, securing, and automating enterprise cloud environments while helping improve Datacom’s cloud security posture across AWS and Microsoft Azure platforms.
The successful candidate will work closely with security architects, engineering teams, and operational stakeholders to implement secure-by-design cloud infrastructure and automation-first security practices.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, your responsibilities include:
- Implement cloud security controls across AWS and Azure environments
- Build automation workflows for cloud security remediation
- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) security guardrails
- Monitor cloud security posture and compliance
- Support vulnerability management across cloud environments
- Participate in cloud security incident investigations
- Implement Zero Trust and least-privilege security principles
- Improve cloud platform resilience and security automation
- Collaborate with architecture and security teams
- Mentor junior engineers and promote security best practices
Required Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- 5+ years of Cloud Engineering, DevSecOps, or Cloud Infrastructure experience
- Strong AWS and Azure expertise
- Experience with IAM and cloud-native security
- Knowledge of Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep
- Experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, or related field
