About the Role
The successful candidate will join the Special Care Unit at Keith Park Retirement Village, supporting residents living with dementia.
Working closely with residents and their families, the Caregiver will deliver personalised care, encourage meaningful daily activities, and ensure residents maintain dignity, independence, and quality of life.
This position is ideal for experienced caregivers who enjoy building strong relationships while supporting older adults with compassion and patience.
Key Responsibilities
As a Caregiver, your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver personalised care based on individual care plans.
- Support residents living with dementia with compassion and respect.
- Organise and participate in engaging daily activities.
- Build positive relationships with residents and their families.
- Assist residents with daily living activities.
- Use Ryman’s myRyman care application to record and manage care.
- Monitor resident wellbeing and report concerns appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and caring environment.
- Help residents enjoy meaningful and fulfilling daily experiences.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Previous dementia care experience.
- Strong empathy and compassion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, reliable, and professional attitude.
- Relevant Health and Wellbeing unit standards (or willingness to complete approved qualifications within 18 months).
- Legal right to work in New Zealand.
