Job Description
The Junior Environmental Engineer will work under the guidance of the Environment Department Manager to support environmental compliance and improve the site’s environmental performance.
The role involves collecting and analysing environmental information, supporting monitoring and reporting activities, contributing to environmental projects, and helping promote good environmental practices throughout the refinery.
The position is fully site-based and requires daily presence in operational areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the site’s environmental management system, procedures, and records.
- Collect, validate, and analyse environmental data related to water, wastewater, emissions, waste, energy, and other site indicators.
- Prepare routine environmental reports, dashboards, and supporting documents.
- Assist with environmental monitoring, sampling programs, and inspections.
- Coordinate with approved laboratories and service providers when required.
- Support compliance with environmental permits, licenses, legal requirements, and corporate standards.
- Maintain accurate records relating to permits, monitoring results, waste documentation, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Participate in internal and external audits and inspections.
- Assist with investigations into environmental incidents, complaints, and non-conformities.
- Support corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide environmental input for operational changes, maintenance activities, and projects.
- Support pollution prevention, waste reduction, and resource efficiency initiatives.
- Work with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Health & Safety, and other departments.
- Prepare environmental awareness and training materials.
- Monitor relevant regulatory and technical developments.
